A VERY busy day at Frankston Arts Centre
Friday 8th May – a very busy day at Frankston Arts Centre!
The day started bright and early, with a corporate breakfast for Facebook in the Rotary Room. Guests were welcomed with the smell of fresh coffee from the barista. A relaxed, casual and rustic feel was given to the room by way of groovy coloured chairs, bare lightbulbs, cacti plants and wooden materials for staging and benches. Guests enjoyed a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit and yoghurt, Danishes, egg and bacon muffins, croissants and frittata whilst listening to valuable information given by Facebook presenters and business entrepreneurs.
Following the breakfast it was a quick re-set of the room with the changeover to Daytime Music Theatre lunch set up. This regular event is held with guests returning time and again for scones, tea and coffee and sitting down to a 2-course lunch. Tables were decorated with fresh flowers in honor of upcoming Mother’s Day.
Once lunch was complete, the Function Room was turned around for the second time in a day, for the setup of Wendy Stapleton’s tribute show, The Dusty Springfield story. All hands were on deck for the moving of tables, chairs, laying of the dance floor and setting tables with fresh flowers, crockery, cutlery and of course, a crisp white damask linen napkin!
It was ready in time for Dusty to help guests kick up their 60s inspired platform knee-high boots and sing-a-long to songs like ‘I Only Want To Be With You and Son of A Preacher Man’ from all those years ago! A 2-course meal was enjoyed, with Black Tie providing specific dietary requests and the lemon meringue proving to be the more popular dessert!
A fun way to end a very busy day – with a party!
